The Snoqualmie Valley has many opportunities for you to volunteer and get involved locally. We want you to Resolve to get Involved! Whether it’s building a community arts center, assisting those in need, becoming a community van driver, mentoring a local student, or helping our seniors thrive, there is a place for everyone who wants to give back to the community.
Many non-profits in Duvall and the surrounding area need your time, energy, and donations. In fact, there are dozens of non-profit groups in Duvall and surrounding Valley that give you the opportunity to get involved, in all kinds of ways. Whether it’s a one-time event or an on-going interaction, go ahead and get involved Duvall. Just take a look at all the ways you can help! Want to help families and community members in need?
Acres of Diamonds, located in Duvall, provides a loving, safe, and nurturing environment that allows homeless women to break the cycle of addiction, violence, poverty, and homelessness.
The Snoqualmie Valley area is also home to Hopelink, an outreach program that serves low-income families, children, and seniors throughout north and east King County. First, Hopelink services help clients achieve stability through the provision of basic needs, such as shelter and food. Second, clients are equipped to exit poverty through the acquisition of skills and knowledge that can permanently change their lives.
Another way to give back to your community is through a church or place of worship. Many local houses of worship have missions for helping others in our community. They provide a great way to get involved in something meaningful.
Interested in supporting the Arts?
The Northwest Art Center is dedicated to providing a range of art classes, workshops and community events for all ages including a digital arts program. Along with financial support and donation of art supplies, you can help by teaching a class, providing administrative support, or volunteering at an event. Duvall Foundation for the Arts organizes some of Duvall’s premiere community events including Art in Bloom and the SandBlast Festival of the Arts.
You can help with organizing, marketing, and staffing these wonderful events, or just help clean up afterwards. The Duvall Cultural Commission (DCC), supported by the City of Duvall, organizes SummerStage concerts in McCormick Park and various public art projects around the city. If you have an interest or skills in visual art, public art and performance, the graphic arts, writing or working with young people, the DCC wants you!
Did you know that Duvall has its very own local theatre company? Cascade Community Theatre (CCT) offers the organic theatre experience right here in the Snoqualmie Valley! Opportunities in the theater community are endless. Try your hand at set building, music, lighting, direction, or costume design. And of course, you can get on stage as a character in one of their productions. If greasepaint is in your blood, CCT is for you!
Did you know we have a local radio station? KAPY Valley 104.9 LPFM Community Radio is a community-based volunteer 100-watt Low Power FM (LPFM) radio station with the goal of providing programming content serving Carnation, Duvall, and parts of Redmond Ridge. Valley 104.9 is focused on local valley content, compelling news, captivating talk and Northwest eclectic music. All shows are locally produced, performed, and created by creative residents. This means you can help! Create content, help fundraise, provide technical support, or help keep the station compliant with the FCC. Your community radio station!
Does working with young children or youth in our community and schools sound exciting?
Hillside Academy is a private Christian school that builds future innovators through a project-based learning approach emphasizing academics, problem solving, creativity, social skills, faith, and character development. You can help inspire students by helping with events or participating in fundraising activities like their annual Costume Bowl.
Riverview Education Foundation (REF) enhances the educational opportunities of Riverview School District students. Your financial support and volunteer hours mean that REF classroom, and school enrichment grants can support a broad range of projects and materials that enhance the District curriculum, and actively engage students in learning. Another fun way to support REF is by attending one of their events, such as their annual Golf tournament or REF Auction.
Empower Youth Network (EYN) is a group whose mission is to promote and inspire youth to lead safe, healthy and successful lives. EYN has six core youth development efforts: Youth Suicide Prevention, Substance Abuse Prevention, and Youth Success! Mentoring, Youth Leadership Development, Pathways to Employment Success & Weekend Power Packs. EYN is currently seeking mentors for local students. This small time commitment can make a big difference to a local child. Additionally, EYN works to build community collaboration throughout the Snoqualmie Valley.

Are you looking to have an impact on the broader community?
The Duvall Chamber of Commerce promotes local businesses and the economic health of Duvall. It does this through programs such as monthly educational meetings and networking events for business owners. The Chamber hosts several annual community events as well, like their highly anticipated annual Halloween Kids Party, Downtown Duvall Halloween Trick or Treat, Light Up Duvall activities and volunteers of all ages are welcomed to help light up Main Street, and participate in the Light Up Duvall – Community Celebration procession to celebrate the season!
The Rotary Club of Duvall is the local branch of a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders united to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Preparing and serving breakfast on Veteran’s Day or helping run the Beer Garden at SummerStage are just a couple of the fun and rewarding ways you can participate in the Rotary.
The Duvall Days Festival team thrives on volunteers, year-round to prepare and run the annual Duvall Days event in June! Duvall Days provides unique opportunities to help with the parade line up, crowd control, organizing other volunteers, and working with vendors.
The March of the Vegetables celebrates the the Snoqualmie Valley – the art, agriculture, beauty, and quirky, vibrant small-town communities.
YES! Kindness Works is a non-profit supporting underserved youth in India and beyond. Our programs provide a free education, basic medical care and support services.
A Supportive Community For All is working to create a more equitable Snoqualmie Valley by engaging, connecting, and supporting people and organizations to collaboratively build a community where all members can thrive.
The Duvall Civic Club has been serving the community since 1929. Our business is doing good for the community without much “hooray for us” involved nor the need for it.

Get involved with the programs, activities, and resources for all ages at the King County Duvall Library.
The mission of the Duvall Historical Society is to preserve, record, publish and promote appreciation of the history of Duvall, the community the pioneers knew as Cherry Valley, and the lower Snoqualmie Valley. Volunteer opportunities for the historical society include being a docent at the local Dougherty House, helping clean and maintain historical buildings, archiving historical artifacts.
The Novelty Hill Cemetery is where Duvall's history sleeps. The pioneer section includes members from the original Cherry Valley cemetery transferred in 1909. The natural setting on 14 acres is a peaceful place to visit. Yearly events include Memorial Day Salute, Headstone Spring Cleaning, Twilight Tour, and Wreaths Across America.

Organized in 2002, the Carnation-Duvall Citizens Corps Council exists to make the community safer, stronger and better prepared. In response to the national request for Americans to work together to strengthen our communities, Carnation and Duvall residents have established a nationally registered Citizen Corps Council to assist in the coordination and dissemination of local volunteer emergency response opportunities and information in the Carnation-Duvall area. You can volunteer to help organize or conduct trainings, run programs, or get prepared yourself by taking Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training.
Do you know a senior that you could help?
Sno-Valley Senior Center works to inspire, support, and empower seniors to lead healthy, enriched lives. Open Monday through Friday from 8am to 3:30pm, there are programs, classes and trips members may participate in throughout the day. Members can try exercise classes, Wii bowling, and Scrabble or take a trip to popular destinations throughout the Seattle area. You can join the Senior Center at any age. Come by to show someone how to use a computer, help with crafts, or simply stop by for lunch and a friendly conversation.

Living in the Northwest, you cannot help being in awe of the beautiful surroundings. There are numerous volunteer opportunities to help keep our natural settings pristine.
The Wilderness Awareness School is a national non-profit environmental education organization established in 1983. Based in Duvall, it is dedicated to caring for the earth and our children by fostering understanding and appreciation of nature, community, and self. Support the school through donations or volunteer to help with a summer camp. You can also participate in the Cascade Wildlife Monitoring Project, where volunteers track mammals in the Cascades and monitor their activity.
The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust leads and inspires action to conserve and enhance the landscape from Seattle across the Cascade Mountains to Central Washington, ensuring a long-term balance between people and nature. This landscape is supported by a broad cross-section of society, working together as an effective coalition to preserve this heritage for future generations. Volunteers help plant trees, represent the Trust at events, or help run the office.
The mission of Oxbow Farm and Conservation Center is to educate people on the importance of environmental stewardship and healthy food, to reconnect us to the land and our local sustainable food supply, and to inspire us to take action in our daily lives and in our communities. Oxbow’s education programs provide an opportunity for you to help with summer camps, work with educators during school field trips, or assist with upkeep on this real working farm.
